It's that "werrrring" noise typically associated with a TO bearing. I was talking in non-specific terms b/c I don't know how else to describe that noise. It will sometimes grind a gear here or there especially if I try to shift quickly but I've seen a few ill-kept KA trannys do that. And judging by the rest of my car when I bought it, I'm sure it was ill-kept and abused.

Anyway, Yoshi thinks I may have a syncro (or some other) problem as well as the TO bearing. I know that we had a major problem with the master when I got it too ... we tried to clean it and put it back together, but I don't know. So I plan on trying to replace it as well.
